Matthew Boersma is a PhD student at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, OH. He is currently studying Hebrew Bible and its interpretation in early Judaism and Christianity. Before starting at Hebrew Union, Matt graduated from Bethany Theological Seminary in 2011 with an MA, focusing in Biblical Studies. His thesis work was in the Song of Songs and contrasting the portrayal of sexuality within it against the portrayal outside of the Song. His current interest is in the book of Kings and its historical frame. Matt lives in Greesnburg, IN, with his spouse Nykki and his children, Miriam and Malachi. When not studying, Matt enjoys cooking, board games, and movies.
